Dial-Up Networking Settings





  1. Click Start, then Control Panel


  2. If you are in category view, click Network and Internet Connections, otherwise proceed to the next step.


  3. Double Click Network Connections


  4. Right click Enter.Net


  5. Click Properties


  6. Make sure there is no check in Use dialing rules


  7. Make sure there is a check in Show icon in notification area when connected


  8. Make sure the local telephone number appears exactly as you would dial it on your telephone.
    (7 or 10 digits depending on your area code) Please be sure to check that this is a local call for you. Enter.Net assumes NO responsibility for any long distance charges that you may incur in the use of any access number.

  10. Click Security


  11. Under Security Options, Typical (recommend settings) should be selected


  12. Validate my identity as follows: Allow unsecured password


  13. Under Interactive logon and scripting, make sure nothing is checked


  14. Click Networking


  15. Type of dial-up server I am calling: PPP: Windows 95/98/NT 4/2000, Internet


  16. Under Use these components with this connection:, ensure that Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is checked


  17. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)


  18. Click Properties

  19. Make sure Obtain an IP address automatically is selected


  20. Make sure Obtain DNS server addresses automatically: is selected


  21. Click OK


  22. Click Advanced


  23. Make sure Protect my computer and network by limiting... is not checked


  24. Make sure Allow other network users to connect through... is not checked


  25. Click OK
